Position: QA/Test/Documentation Engineer

Anticipated Start Date: June 1 1996

Position Description (one paragraph):

This person will be part of the development organization responsible for final testing of the Andromedia products and insuring they meet certain quality standards. This person will also be responsible for all Andromedia documentation.

Specific Responsibilities:

Write the standard test routines to be used in testing all aspects of the Andromedia product
Implement and manage the testing and QA procedure for all Andromedia products.
Produce all the technical documentation and user manuals for Andromedia products. The actual writing may be done by a contractor.
Perform numerous final packaging tasks as needed. These may include writing installation scripts and setting up the support environment.

Phone technical support for customer installation problems

Skills Required (i.e. Technical, Marketing, Sales, etc.):

C/C++
Perl, Java or other scripting language skills
UNIX shell programming skills
General web technical skills
Technical writing skills

Professional Experience Required:

At least 5 years experience in a software test and QA function

At least 2 years working with Perl
At least 1 year of technical documentation writing experience
C/C++ experience would be a significant plus
Run through at least 2 full product development and release cycles
No management experience required but would be a plus
Name brand company experience a plus

Personal:

Must be rigorous in their approach to QA and testing

team oriented and play well with others
Must be able to "trade hats" and load balance engineering tasks
motivated to succeed, must live and breathe this stuff

Education:

Undergraduate degree in CS/engineering a big plus
